East Links Family Park

Standard

We have just spent a fabulous afternoon at the East Links Family Park and narrow gauge railway.
We found it for the first time last year and made a point of stopping there on our way south this year. It is only a couple of miles from the main road near Dunbar. The boys loved it last year and today was just as good. Helped of course by the glorious weather we have had.
The park was £42 for a family ticket of 2 adults and 2 children. It is a one-off payment and all is then included.
There is a huge fort which is the first port of call. Inside there is crawling tunnels and a 3 storey rope bridge style walk way which snakes to the top where you find a mega slide to return down. There is a wooden walkway for those of us who are too frightened of the rope!
There are animals to feed and see. They range from guinea pigs to llamas and cattle.
The railway does a loop of the paddocks and you see the animals scrounging!
For the more athletic there are multi person bikes you can tour about. Hubby took D on a journey while M and I enjoyed the massive, well equipped play area.
Getting the boys off the go-cart track was probably the hardest part of the day.
They have trampolines and something the boys have named daddy’s tummy. It is a semi sunken inflatable bulge they jump about on.
We of course had to try the ice cream and it was a mega cone with a flake! I’m on holiday, so calories don’t count!
It’s a great day out if you’re in the area. There’s even plenty to do under cover should the weather not be so good, with a hay barn and bouncy castle as well as a ball shooting area.
I haven’t been asked to write a review but we have enjoyed the days we have visited both times and will use it as a half day stop off when we travel south again.
